Molester Returns!

Maa (In Excited tone) : Pillai Aunty kept her word, she gave me 12 years before. She has asked for your hand for Anay, her eldest son.
Navika ( while watching movie on Child Abuse): Please say ‘NO’ to her very clearly. Phew!

Maa (Agitated): Have you gone out of your mind? Where else you will get such a nice family and well settled Boy.
Navika (While maintaining her poise): Maa, I said No. I will not marry him, no matter what happens.
Maa: Is there anyone else in your mind? Your dad and Mr Pillai have been thick friends since their childhood and    Mrs Pillai is also a nice and a genuine lady.
How can you forget, how much they had helped us when we had moved from Pune to Delhi. How beautifully You and Anay got along.
Navika: Has Anay himself agreed to this proposal?
Maa: Yes, Yes! He even spoke to me today morning and said, ‘Aunty, its not just his Mama n Baba agreement, I also like Navika’.
So, what else you want, stupid girl.
Navika (While holding back her tears): Then listen. Anay is the boy, who molested me every evening when we had moved from Pune to Delhi and were staying in their house.
He even had warned me that he will spread bad word about me in the colony. Tears started flowing out of her eyes.
Maa: Shocked! Why all these years you did not tell us?
Navika: Maa, you would have never believed me. You always pushed me to Aunty’s house saying, I am introvert. So, I always felt, you will never believe me.

(This is a true story. Names have been changed as the mother requested me to do so. But she wanted this story to reach maximum parents possible and not repeat the mistake she did. So that parents do not take merely their physical presence around the kids as protection. It is important for parents to stay alert and be aware of any change in their kids behavior at any point of time. Family and close friends can also pose harm to your child)
